The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School has offered the Israel Seminar
experience to its students, graduates and their spouses/significant others
since 1993. While the Mini-School has been structured around its four core
courses, contemporary Jews who are striving for Jewish literacy and
familiarity with the essentials of Jewish heritage must also, at some stage
in their lives, grapple with the place of Israel - the land, the state and
its people. In fact, the Israel Seminar can even be considered as a fifth
Melton course – the “icing on the cake” of a student’s Melton experience.
The Israel Seminar seeks to combine visits to core sites in the Holy Land
with on-site text learning, allowing for a simultaneous exploration of
critical issues in the actual locations where the events took place.
Participants on the ten-day trip stay in luxury accommodations while
experiencing everything a trip to Israel has to offer, along with the
quality Melton study opportunities they have come to expect from their
instructors at home.
