December and January brings special events to Hebrew High in Denver and
Boulder!
On December 6, 1999, the Denver Branch of Hebrew High will be having a
Hanukkah toy and sports equipment drive for families in need. Hebrew High
students will wrap the gifts in class and Michael Schreiber will deliver the
presents to Jewish Family Services, who will distribute them to the families.
This is going to be a great opportunity to spread the light of Hanukkah to those
who might not otherwise have such a special holiday.
Members of the 1999 IST Israeli Staff will be in Denver on December 6 and
Boulder on December 8 to meet with students from the IST 2000 classes and talk
to them about the Israel experience. Students will have the opportunity to learn
about the culture of Israel, the options that will be available to them in
Israel as well as the Poland extension that some ISTers may choose to
participate in.
On January 8-9th, both branches of Hebrew High will be having an overnight
retreat for 9th graders. The retreat will be held at the Robert Loup JCC and is
open to freshmen already enrolled at the Hebrew High. Also, feel free to bring
along a Jewish friend who is not enrolled in Hebrew High. If you have any
questions or suggestions about the retreat, please get in touch with Steve
