Delet, the adult education branch of the Colorado Agency for Jewish Education, is pleased to partner with the Jewish Learning Initiative to offer “Towards Inclusion: Perspectives on Disability, Social Responsibility, and Belonging.”
The four-part series will include topics such as “It’s not you; it’s me – the limits of human perception,” “The theory of inclusion – on human worth and dignity,” “Am I my brother’s keeper? – the ethics of responsibility,” and “A call to action – overcoming barriers to inclusion.”
Dr. Sarah Levy, Director of Delet, added, “When I heard about this opportunity, I knew it should be available to the community as the topic of ‘inclusion’ is on everyone’s minds. Synagogues, schools, and other organizations have been trying to address this ideal for years. This class will be an opportunity for leaders to come together to learn and discuss, exploring the topics from a Jewish perspective and really considering how to take the ideas back to the real world.”
The class will be taught by Rabbi Yossi Serebryanski and is open to the community, specifically geared towards those who are Jewish communal professionals or lay leaders. It will be held at the CAJE office over four mornings in March.
