Hebrew High...A Place to Explore, Discover, and Connect
Hebrew High is a community-wide extracurricular program for Jewish
students in grades 8-12.
For over 30 years, the Colorado Agency for Jewish Education has connected
Jewish teenagers to our collective heritage - and to each
other- through innovative programs, traditional classes, and life-changing
experiences. Now CAJE Hebrew High is evolving to bring new, cutting-edge
experiences to our community's youth.
CAJE's mission is to create relevant avenues of entry to our tradition so
that all Jews can have personally significant experiences of Judaism.
In the spirit of Judaism's rich and diverse traditions, CAJE celebrates
the beauty and relevance of all Jewish movements. We recognize diverse types
of learning and sets of interests. Active engagement with our tradition is
the Jewish mandate, and CAJE strives to provide meaningful venues for such
exploration.
Above all, the vitality of Judaism resides in its emphasis on action, on
what we do here and now. CAJE is committed to active, exeriential learning.
At CAJE Hebrew High, classes are designed to be dynamic exchanges between
knowledgeable, enthusiastic instructors and eager, intellectually
adventurous students. We also offer classrooms without walls, hands-on
activities, and informal settings. We are eager to help students explore
Judaism by doing Judaism, which can occur as profoundly around a tractate of
Talmud as around a campfire.
